Pulmonary Testing

Akeso offers pulmonary function tests (PFTs), which are noninvasive tests that show how well the lungs are working and measures lung volume, capacity, rates of flow, and gas exchange. This information helps our physicians diagnose and treat of breathing /lung issues.

Respiratory & Lung Capacity Testing

Pulmonary function tests (PFT) are noninvasive tests that show how well the lungs are functioning. The test measures lung volume, capacity, rates of air flow and gas exchange.

If an employee works in an environment where there is exposure to particles or fumes that might affect the lungs, the PFT exam is done as a baseline, annually and at the time when employment with the company terminates. Any change from the baseline PFT requires referral to a pulmonary specialist.
